As it approaches the Sun, it’s developing a coma (a glowing cloud of gas and dust) and a tail stretching millions of kilometers. Most comets release gases like carbon monoxide as they heat up, but telescopes have found something unusual with 3I/ATLAS It’s rich in carbon dioxide, But surprisingly low in carbon monoxide and continues to show exotic features that are very unusual.
